Have you ever really loved?

As the years have gone by, I have fallen in love or what I thought was love. Partners have come and gone. We said our fair shares of those 3 magic words. For some, it's said because they feel it is fitting for the occasion. Or it is said because they think what they feel is love. But have you or myself ever really been in love? "Have you ever really, really, really, loved a woman?" Woman?...no! Man...I have now!

For 7 years now and counting, it has been in the making. What we are experiencing, what is going on now, is true love. This IS love, and the highest form of it! Starting off as a friendship and then developing to more, my love is true! It has gone through trials, tribulations, tests, and it is still beating and flaring as strong as ever! We both know what we share is love, a deep love because despite the adversity it has faced, it still is existing and growing!

I'm reminded of the Bryan Adams song, "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?". The lyrics are right on point with the many lessons that I have learned over the past 6 months. You have to let her (or him) hold you, so you know how she (or he) wants to be touched. To understand her (or him), you have to know her (or him) deep inside. Essentially, being in tune, physically, mentally, emotionally, romantically, and spiritually.

As part of my re-invention, I am doing what it takes, the necessary steps, the sacrifices, and especially listening to the needs of my love; building off of the ideals he has about love and relationships.

I'm grateful that our love is strong, and resilient! To be honest, I've never experienced love like this! I promise my love will never end. It will keep giving over and over again. It will be understanding, patient, and committed to you, and only you, so long as I shall live! When I say I love you, it's from deep within my heart and soul.
