Testing to Tumblr

Okay, so I'm testing out using Tumblr and apparently you can have it stream to Tumblr. So in theory from what I'm guessing, if I post here on Blogger, it should pull it to Tumblr.

So if you see this on Blogger, success! If you see this posting on Tumblr, success again!

Let's see!

Thankful

You know it's been awhile since I truly wrote a long blog. It's either been a micro-blog via Twitter, or from Dailybooth. I really wished I had more time to blog because I feel like my mind tends to get crowded with thoughts and ideas. I also noticed that my writing ability tended to be a bit better when I was an avid blogger. My descriptions and sentence structure were well developed. Now it's that texting language. Damn you Twitter and microblogging with 100+ characters or less.

But that's not what I wanted to blog about tonight. The Thanksgiving holiday just recently passed. Thinking back to how this past November has been, a lot did happen this month. With work to personal, life has been nothing less of chaotic and stressful. But Thanksgiving couldn't have come at a better time when things look bleak.

But Thanksgiving is more than just one day. It's an actual mind-set. God wants us to continue giving thanks in not just the good times, but also during the tough times. We are to always remember that everyday that we live on this Earth is a blessing with God. I forgot where I got this from, but think about the food that you are eating. And then contrast that with the millions of people who are starving and struggle to find the next meal. Think about your car that you drive to work. Then parralell that with someone who doesn't even have a job. And then lastly, that old beat up or not as powerful computer that you are reading this blog on. Then think about others who do not have that same luxury. We have many things to be thankful for. It's just all about your perspective.

Remember to have a Godly perspective. That is one of the ways that we can remember to keep Him first in our lives.

As I lay me down to sleep

Time to sleep...and it's only 9:54p. I feel old! Blah!

Halloween

This year...not so much in to Halloween. I don't know why. Probably because it lands on a Sunday and I want to keep it holy. But here is us last year at the Weset Hollywood Costume Carnival: http://kotaku.com/5395896//gallery/gallery/11

In the 1920's....

Bonnie and Clyde are at it again!

Pumpkin carving

Here's what my podmates and I carved our pumpkin in to. It's a fish eating all of the other holidays icons. We didn't win but it was okay.

So if some says "eff" that, would that maybe mean they can't explain it?

Word of the Day for Saturday, October 16, 2010

ineffable \in-EF-uh-buhl\, adjective:

1. Incapable of being expressed in words; unspeakable; unutterable; indescribable.
2. Not to be uttered; taboo.

. . .the tension inherent in human language when it attempts to relate the ineffable, see the invisible, understand the incomprehensible.
-- Jeffrey Burton Russell, A History of Heaven
Pope John Paul II notes that people are drawn to religion to answer the really big questions--for example, "What is the ultimate ineffable mystery which is the origin and destiny of our existence?"
-- William A. Sherden, The Fortune Sellers
One cannot blame them very much; explaining the ineffable is difficult.
-- Edward O. Wilson, "The Biological Basis of Morality", The Atlantic, April 1998

Ineffable is from Latin ineffabilis, from in-, "not" + effabilis, "utterable," from effari, "to utter," from ex-, "out" + fari, "to speak."

"Harry Potter" author may face plagiarism trial. What is the precise meaning of plagiarism?

This week a British judge refused to dismiss a plagiarism lawsuit against best-selling author J.K. Rowling. The claims against the wildly successful creator of "Harry Potter" say that she stole ideas from an obscure fantasy book. The judge said that a proper hearing should be held to consider the matter. Is plagiarism simply copying words? Or...

Running and sweating

So I am determined to get back in shape for a marathon again. My right knee/leg is the one that likes to cramp up on me now. I just ran 3 miles in about 40 mins. So slow than what I'm used to before. I will get back up to that level again. One day....
