Last Friday, Mark and I watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The X-Men movie franchise is one of our favorites since the first movie. Mark is a big fan of graphic novels, and over the years, I have gained a greater appreciation of the art.
If you haven't already heard, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a pre-quel to the 3 X-Men movies. It tells the back story of how Wolverine came to be and his many struggles along the way.
I was actually expecting a lot of people to be at the movie theater to watch, but to my surprise, not so many. I wonder if many of them saw it online already. LOL.
It was a bit slow at the start and the movie was very interesting. I know a lot of these movies don't stay true to the original source material, but that's Hollywood for you. The movie kept me engaged and gave me a better understanding of the Marvel Universe, or at least the movie Marvel Universe. It was interesting to see some of the other mutants when they were younger like the White Queen, Quicksilver, and even to see their take of how Deadpool came to be.
Now the real question...do I want to see it again after watching it? Is it one of those movies that you will watch over and over again until your eyes are all red and you get a headache from? No. Will I rent it? Maybe. Will I buy it when it comes to DVD? Possibly.
I'm actually really excited to see Ironman 2!
